Volleyball - Lady Eagles Stay Unbeaten in SPAA With Win Over WoodlawnSeptember 25, 2020
SALISBURY, N.C. – North Hills Christian School’s Lady Eagles Volleyball team remains undefeated in the Southern Piedmont Athletic Association (SPAA) after defeating Woodlawn School on Thursday night.
With the beginning of the season filled with uncertainty, the Lady Eagles have had a strong start to the season. Even though the team has been training since June, they feared they would be unable to play this year after the state athletic association delayed the start of the season twice.
The start of the season was important for everyone, but especially for the six senior athletes who made it to the NCISAA State Playoffs last year. Senior Ava Corriher was asked how she felt about playing in the middle of a pandemic, and she said, “I have played with some of my teammates for nine years, but the pandemic has brought us closer than ever because we know how special it is to be playing this year. I think that’s why we are doing so well and have such high hopes and positive outlooks for the rest of the season.”
The team is currently ranked third in the NCISAA 1A division and looks to keep its undefeated streak going through mid-October to make it to the state playoffs.
